Hello Kids from around the world!!
Hi, my name is Darren and I am in Mr. Fisher’s class here in Manitoba, Canada. My teacher has gotten the wonderful idea of helping kids connect.
Introducing my class is a difficult task, but I will do it anyways. They are all a quite loud and friendly bunch (I am probably the loudest). But Out of all the places I have lived, this place is by far the best.
Now about the town itself. Snow Lake is a small town of about 800 people and has a few typical small-town businesses like a grocery store (where you buy food), a couple of restaurants, two gas stations and the occasional gift shop. Small town life is the best and I would choose it over city life any day.
Teen’s concerns when living in Canada
The number one concern for Canadian teens is probably peer pressure. I mean, living in a place where you are expected to look a certain way, wear certain clothes, etc…, it is no wonder that this is the number one concern There are so many stereo types here in Canada that many people kill themselves trying to fit in. or other people get bugged enough about not fitting in that they don’t even want to go through life anymore… but I would rather not talk about that. Moving on to…
…The number two concern for teens in Canada would most likely be global warming. Most people would not believe how many teenagers are look at global warming and saying “enough is enough”. With all of the ads, presentations, speakers and the like that talk to kids about global warming and how to stop it. It is no wonder that this generation is the world’s savior-to-be. But there are also those kids who refuse to believe in this stuff and will not do a thing to help stop it. This now brings me into my next concern.
The third and final concern of Canadian teens is, in my opinion, other kids suffering from poverty, disease, abuse and hunger. Kids worry about other kids for the most part. But like I said before, there are those who don’t really care about what the fate of other people are. These selfish people are people who don’t really deserve to be alive. We try to change them, but it doesn’t work. If there were less people like that and more people out there who cared, the world would be a much better place.

Darren,
You have many interesting and important topics to talk about. Life in Canada sounds and looks extremely pleasant! I like that you are concerned about the environment and that you are against peer pressure.
You should write a blog about the environment in Canada, how it’s changing, why it’s changing, and if you think their should be a large concern.

Hey, Darren. This is Sarah in Mr.R’s class in Malaysia.
I am also worried about poverty. It is a serious, no kidding, problem all around the world.
Like here, Malaysia, for example. When you go out to the markets at night, there are people, both kids, adults, and even old people, sitting in the middle of the street, begging for money.
Why, though, do you think this is happening?

Hey Darren,
I am Ramzi in Mr.Raisdana’s class in Malaysia. Really loved your blog because it gives a certain personality to it. You have a great concern for the earth which is a very good characteristic. Loved your overall layout of your blog especially your dragon on top. Canada sound like a lot of fun and I would love to visit some time. I have a best friend in Canada and he had asked me to visit this amazing country. I also feel that I would love to live in a town community. I can see that you are very confident in school and that you’re a good friend and feel that you would fit in nicely in our school in Malaysia.
