The Wonderful Time of the Middle Ages

The middle ages began around the year 470 A.D and ended during the years of the very early 1500’s. Even thought there is many wonderful stories and myths that come from these times, the middle ages was a time of plague, death, a halt in the inventing of new devices and a time of little learning where less than 5% of the population knew how to read and wright. Kings were very dominant in the chain of power until they started letting the nobles have a large amount of power and eventually giving them all but a little of their power and the nobles were in charge.

Now the peasant’s every day lives were all individual nightmares. Their food was terrible (whenever they could get it), they worked 14 hour days most of the time and worst of all, they never took any baths. Only once when they were born and once when thay died was all they ever bath.

The Folloing is a link to a site with some information on the middle ages that I think anyone would be interested in.                                  http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Olympus/9767/crusades.html
